My Paper Against Toilet Papering

Wrapping a person’s house in toilet paper is unbiblical and wrong. It causes negative feelings, it is wasteful, and it could cause health problems and legal trouble. "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17.

Wrapping is wasteful. Buying the toilet paper and the gas expense of driving to the victim’s house are wastes of money, however slight. Taking the time to plan the wrapping, to buy the toilet paper, to wrap the house, and to clean it all up (for the unfortunate victims) are dreadful wastes of time.

Wrapping could be harmful to your health. It causes a lack of sleep for the wrappers to stay up late at night to do the wrapping. It also causes a lack of sleep for the unfortunate victims who usually have to wake up early to clean it up. Wrapping could possibly cause ulcers to form in the stomach of the wrappers’ mother as she worries about her children doing such dark deeds. She also might worry about the horrified reaction of the victims as they awaken to discover the results of the cruel prank. Finally, wrapping could be to blame for pulled muscles. Wrappers could pull their arm muscles throwing the toilet paper so forcefully, and the unfortunate victims could pull any number of muscles trying to clean up the mess.

Wrapping houses is rude, disrespectful, and rebellious. Wrapping someone’s house does not do to others what we would have them do to us, nor does it show that we love our neighbors as ourselves. It sets a bad example for children, by encouraging revenge and retaliation. "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself." Leviticus 19:18. It could cause marital problems if spouses disagree over whether or not to allow it. "‘Do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,’ declares the Lord." Zechariah 8:17

Wrapping houses could be illegal. According to www.wikipedia.org, "toilet papering is technically an act of vandalism," which could lead to more destructive behavior "such as egging and creaming, which can actually cause serious property damage. As a result, toilet papering itself has been labeled in recent years as a dangerous activity . . ." The Rowlett Code of Ordinances states that "It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit garbage, trash, rubbish . . . upon or along any . . . private premises within the corporate limits of the city."

Wrapping must be done at night to avoid getting caught; therefore, children would be breaking the juvenile curfew in order to wrap. Because it is sneaky and must be done at night, the Bible calls it evil. "Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." John 3:19-21.

In conclusion, wrapping houses is bad, and people should stop doing it. Oh yeah, and it’s bad for the environment. And there are people in other countries who wish they had toilet paper.
